Get involved in a fun and exciting community event
Elmbridge residents are invited to attend the “My Elmbridge Day” event, on 24 October at Cowey Sale, Walton-on-Thames. Running from 11am-2pm, the day is packed with a whole host of stands, societies, and sweet-treats with activities and sign-ups aplenty for residents of all ages.
Residents can use this opportunity to get involved with the various sports groups and organisations across the Borough. Whether that be joining in with the 5-aside rugby session put on by Weybridge Vandals or taking part in the Riverside Rebels Runs, the range of sports on offer is endless. Alternatively, those feeling a bit less spritely on the day, can simply signup for a future session of their choosing with any of the multitude of organisations present. Younger residents may also delight in a range of activities including the Sand Art Bear Club, and face painting sessions.
Those wanting to entertain their indulgent side, should come along purely to sample the delicious products on offer from a range of food stalls and businesses. From award-winning sauces and chutneys, to sensational sweet-cones, and invigorating vegan friendly superfoods-even the fussiest residents should find something to please their taste buds.
Leader of Elmbridge Borough Council, Councillor Tim Oliver, encourages residents to get involved; “My Elmbridge Day is a great opportunity for you to come and appreciate what Elmbridge has to offer and learn more about the many groups and organisations in your local area. We want as many residents as possible to become active in their communities and I would strongly recommend not missing such a fun and vibrant event”.
The day will also provide a fantastic window into the work of services such as Surrey Fire and Rescue and Surrey Police who will be showcasing their new water safety strategies. Additionally, residents can learn more about the selfless work of charity and volunteer groups across the Borough.
The event will be free to all residents and will be accompanied by a showcase of performance and music.
