Hersham community site

Why have we opened a survey?

Elmbridge Borough Council is committed to a thriving Elmbridge. This can mean many things to many people but essentially, it’s all about ensuring the people who live and work in Borough feel part of their community and are safe, happy and healthy. Part of our role as your Local Authority, is to ensure you have the facilities you need to do this.

In the village of Hersham there is one key aspect of community and village life that needs to be addressed and that is the future of the Hersham Village Hall. Many people who live and work in Hersham will be aware that the hall was closed due to its poor condition some time ago and that its future has been unclear ever since. We now want to address the future of the Hersham Village Hall but in doing so we want to extend that conversation to the Hersham community site. This is the area on the Queen’s Road, opposite Hersham Green, which comprises the Hersham village hall, the Hersham Centre for the Community and the public car park.

To know what facilities Hersham needs we need to ask the people who live and work in Hersham - how do you use community facilities and how often? What do you need from those facilities?

To find out the answers to these and other questions, we have opened a community survey.

How long is the survey open?

The survey will run from Friday 4 January to midnight on 28 January 2019. A paper version of the survey will be sent to all Hersham residents, it is also available online (community survey) and paper copies can be completed at the Hersham Centre for the Community and Hersham Library (Molesey Road, Hersham). The survey shouldn’t take any more than 5-10 minutes to complete.

How to return a paper copy of the survey?

We are aware that some residents did not receive a pre-paid envelope to return their survey. However, you can return your paper copy at the Hersham Centre for the Community or at the Hersham Library or you can use the freepost address below:
