Emergency Services Day (also known as 999 Day) is a national day recognised across the UK to support the heroic men and women of the NHS and emergency services.
On behalf of Elmbridge Borough Council and its residents, I would like to thank all the emergency services. This is particularly poignant in 2021 with the huge amount of work they have been involved in since the start of the Covid pandemic. I acknowledge the commitment and efficiency of the emergency services.
#999Day promotes using the emergency services responsibly, educates the public about basic lifesaving skills, and promotes the many career and volunteering opportunities available. Volunteers are an essential part of the emergency services family and they play a core part in keeping Britain safe.
