Service updates

22 February: the Prime Minister has announced the plan for the easing of restrictions. We will update this page as the various stages of the easing take place.

4 January: the Prime Minister has announced a National Lockdown. The details can be found on the Government's website

The following will remain closed due to the pandemic: 

  • Centres for the Community  
  • Civic Centre - closed to the public 
  • Halls - Playhouse, King Georges Hall, Vine Hall, Elmgrove 
  • Leisure centres - Xcel Leisure Complex and Hurst Pool
  • Xcel Sports Hub
  • Healthy Walks suspended until further notice
  • Tennis courts
  • Outdoor green gyms
  • Skateparks
  • Basketball courts
  • Bootcamps - group exercise classes including boot camps are not authorised to run
  • Recreational football pitches: all indoor and outdoor youth and adult grassroots football, including training and fixtures

Exercising in outdoor public places:

You can exercise or visit a public outdoor place

  • by yourself
  • with the people you live with,
  • with your support bubble,
  • or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household.
  • this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.

A maximum of 30 people are able to attend a funeral. Cemetery grounds remain open but please maintain social distancing, and sanitise your hands before and after visiting.
