From 22 January the car park at Drewitts Court in Walton-on-Thames will be undergoing refurbishment but will remain partially open and available to use for those visiting and shopping in Walton town.
The refurbishment works will take approximately 29 weeks and will include resurfacing and improvements to the drainage and will involve a staged closure to sections of the car park while these works are being carried out. There is alternative parking available at our other Walton car parks in Manor Road and Ashley Park.
On Saturdays, visitors to Walton-on-Thames can still benefit from up to 3 hours free parking in Drewitts Court, Ashley Park and Manor Road car parks. This is all part of Elmbridge Borough Council’s support to local high streets and businesses.
Councillor Andrew Davis, Portfolio Holder for Highways and Transport is pleased that the refurbishment of Drewitts Court is now underway in order to offer an improved service to users;
“It is essential to the infrastructure of Elmbridge that we invest in our car parks. Our high streets and businesses rely on them to bring people into the town centres. Last year, as part of our multi-million pound 10 year investment strategy in car parks, we made significant improvements to Ashley Park car park, also in Walton-on-Thames, and we are now following this with the refurbishment of Drewitts Court.”
