The Leader of Elmbridge Borough Council, Councillor Stuart Selleck, announced at Council on Wednesday 2 October that the government funding provided to Elmbridge to support its Brexit plans would be distributed among some local charities:
- Foodbanks in Cobham, Esher and Molesey and Walton-on-Thames and Hersham
- and two Citizen Advice Bureaux in the borough.
The council will retain a small amount of the funding for short term contingencies, but all our preparations are aimed at maintaining normal services to all our residents throughout the Brexit transition period.
Councillor Selleck is confident in the council’s preparations for Brexit and delighted to be able to support these local groups:
“The work of both Citizens Advice and the local foodbanks is a vital life-line to many of our residents and I am happy that we can continue to support them with this financial contribution to their work.”
