The Elmbridge Community Lottery celebrated an impressive milestone last month when it reached £50,000 in donations to Elmbridge good causes. The Lottery, which launched its first prize draw in March last year, has raised money every week for organisations and groups running across the borough.
There are more than 80 local good causes signed up to the Elmbridge Community Lottery, which all benefit from money raised through ticket sales. The Claygate Community Pool has raised over £2,500 through the Lottery, while St Charles PTA, The Barn Theatre Club, Weybridge Cricket Club, Walton-on-Thames Cricket Club, Molesey Juniors FC, Molesey Boat Club and 1st Hinchley Wood Scout Group have all raised over £1,000 to support their respective causes.
Daniel from Molesey Juniors Football Club (MJFC) recommends the Elmbridge Community Lottery to any good cause looking to raise funds.
“We heard about the lottery from researching the best ways to go about raising extra funds for MJFC,” says Daniel. “We've been raising money to try to improve the pitches and facilities for the members of MJFC.After starting the Elmbridge Lottery, we have been raising much needed and regular income for our football club, helping us to give everybody involved with MJFC improved facilities which are well deserved.”
