Community cab service

Dial-a-Ride journeys resuming

Due to current government restrictions to help control the COVID-19 outbreak, our Community Transport Services are currently suspended.

However, we remain committed to supporting those who rely on our services to get out and about, and are looking to resume our Dial-a-Ride service from 17 August.

Up to two passengers from the same household will be able to book a journey to attend hair appointments, go on shopping trips or visit friends and family.

For more information, visit our Dial-a-Ride webpage.

For updates on the status of all Council services, please see our coronavirus (COVID-19) webpage.

The community cab service can help Elmbridge residents visit locations both inside and outside the borough. The service is fully accessible to a range of individuals including supporting wheelchair users and their carers, older people and people of all ages with a mobility concern.

This scheme can also help transport users to health and hospital appointments.

Charges

  • £4.20 initial charge
  • £2.20 for every additional mile

In order to use the community cab you will be required to book in advance and be a member of community transport.  Once you are a member of community transport you will be able to use all of our community transport services.

Membership

All of our services require membership of the Community Transport Scheme. For just £17 a year you can access any of our services, including Dial-a-Ride and door-to-door transport to our Centres for the Community.

For more information or to become a community transport member please contact commtransport@elmbridge.gov.uk or call 01372 474944.
