Taxi and private hire licensing policy consultation

Why are we consulting?

Our taxi and private hire licensing policy sets out the council’s general approach to regulating taxi and private hire services in the borough of Elmbridge. Our primary concern is public safety and, through this policy, we aim to both reduce potential risks associated with taxi and private hire services and provide transparency and consistency for anyone with an interest.
Our existing policy was published in 2013 and following a recent review, we are now proposing changes to ensure it remains current.

We are now consulting on those changes and would really like to hear your views through the survey.

Please make sure we receive your comments no later than midnight on 7 October 2019, otherwise we may not be able to consider them.

What happens next?

After the consultation closes the council's Licensing Committee will consider your responses and any other relevant information and decide on whether to make any changes to the draft Policy.

We hope to publish a revised Policy in 2020.
