From 13 January 2018 new rules came into effect banning companies from charging any fees on card payments; this also applies to Local Authorities and other government agencies such as HMRC. As a result, because the Council will have to pay for the cost of credit cards from this date we have decided to no longer accept credit cards at all for the payment of council tax and business rates.
You can pay your council tax now by debit card.
You will need to provide your council tax account number.
Your 8 digit account number will begin with a "2" and can be found at the top of your bill.
Alternative ways to pay
Set up a direct debit and your council tax instalments will be collected automatically. You can choose to pay on the 1st, 10th or 20th of the month. Pay by direct debit
