National lockdown grant
The government has announced a further grant allocation to ratepayers required to close because of the ongoing national restrictions. This will cover the 44-day period from 16 February to 31 March 2021.
The government has provided additional funding for discretionary schemes.
The Elmbridge discretionary scheme provides one-off grants for:
- Business ratepayers not mandated to close (this includes businesses who have an account number and have 100% relief from currently paying)
- Businesses who do not pay business rates (the business does not have an account number)
The Elmbridge discretionary scheme, published on 28 January 2021, is for businesses who have suffered financially since 18 December 2020.
We have processed a high volume of successful applications and have now paid businesses the majority of funding the government provided for this scheme.
As a result, we are opening the Elmbridge discretionary scheme for a short period only. The scheme will open at 9 am on Thursday 4 March and close at 5 pm on Saturday 6 March 2021.
Business grants for businesses impacted in 2020
Business ratepayers can still apply for government grant schemes announced in 2020.
