Businesses participating in the community toilet scheme are paid by the council to make their toilets available to members of the public who have not made a purchase at their premises. Businesses are paid £1,000 per year (plus VAT if the business is VAT registered). Businesses also benefit from promotion across the borough as a participant in the scheme. How to join To join the scheme, register your interest by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. What happens next After you register your interest: We will arrange a visit to assess the facilities at your premises. If your facilities are suitable, we will give you a sticker to display on your premises. We will send you an email with a link to an online form to complete. Once you have fully completed the form, we will issue your payment. Acceptance into the scheme is subject to area need, type of facilities and is not automatic. You must also be able to provide proof of your business having public liability insurance of at least £5million.
