From 13 January 2018 new rules come into effect which will mean that companies are banned from charging any fees on card payments; this also applies to Local Authorities and other government agencies such as HMRC. As a result, because the Council will have to pay for the cost of credit cards from this date we have decided to no longer accept credit cards at all for the payment of Council Tax and Business Rates.
You can pay your business rates by debit card.
You will need to provide your business rates account number. Your 8 digit account number will begin with a "6" and can be found at the top of your bill.
Alternative ways to pay
Set up a direct debit and your business rates instalments will be collected automatically on the 1st of the month.
