Website Design and Improvements
The Elmbridge Borough Council Website was launched in November 2003. It was redesigned on 29 October 2004 and |04 May 2007, following comments received from our website users. |An online suggestion form is also available. Check out the |What's New area to see recent changes.
The website aims to provide Information about the Council and its services to the Public and visitors of Elmbridge, in addition we include a |number of online services, which enable you to contact us direct through the website.
You will also notice that at the bottom of each page is an option to "email a question about this page", this facility will put you in direct contact with the Division who provide the information on the page you are viewing, and will enable your questions to be dealt with promptly.
The Website is designed and maintained by the Officers of the Council, this ensures that information given on the page is the same as the information you would receive on phoning or writing to us.

The interest in the site as shown by the number of page hits is increasing.
We have recently improved the |quality of our website statistics to make it more useful and user-friendly.
Website Availability
We aim to provide you with a 24/7 online Council available 99% of the time. We regularly monitor the availability of our web servers and you can view a |graphical representation of availability of the website.
Accessibility
We aim to make this website |accessible to all. We have achieved Conformance Level "AA" of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. and many of our pages achieve AAA.
The Council is keen to use clear English in our everyday work, avoiding jargon. Using clear English will reduce misunderstandings, unnecessary questions and save time and money. Clear English is much easier to read and understand.
