Elmbridge is one of the safest places to live and work in the country. 
However in 2004/5 there were 255 thefts of motor vehicles and 966 theft from motor vehicles. A lot of these crimes could have been prevented if only the victim had taken a few precautions. It sounds silly but you will be surprised how many people didn't even lock their vehicle or left expensive items on display to entice less honest individuals.
Help local police by doing your bit and make sure your vehicle is properly secured and if you must leave valuable items in your vehicle please put them out of sight.
