We live and work in a low crime area, and crimes such as burglary are fairly low in Elmbridge. However, we also live in a relatively affluent area and this is sometimes an enticement to the less discerning members of the public.
Local police do a very valuable job, but they cannot be in all places at all times. One of the biggest deterrents to property crime is Neighbourhood Watch.
You and your neighbours can be the 'eyes and the ears' of your local neighbourhood and you are far more likely to notice anything or anyone out of place.
We are not asking you to do the job of local police but to work with your neighbours by setting up or participating in a Neighbourhood Watch scheme.
