Everyone has a little spare - help to save a life.
Every day new medical treatments are being developed and more operations are being carried out. So not surprisingly, we constantly need donations for these vital procedures. About 2.1 million donations are required every year.
It's not difficult and will only take about 10 minutes of your time. Ideally everyone who is suitable would donate a pint of blood three times a year. But if you only manage once a year, that's great too. Regular blood donation sessions are carried out throughout the year.
To find a convenient time, look up the National Blood Service website which will tell you when and where your nearest session will be.
When donating blood most people don't feel a thing. Apart from a terrific sense of well-being that they've helped save a life.
