Land Charges Search Fees

Using the guidelines in the Local Government Association "Local Land Searches Code of Practice", the Elmbridge portion of the fees are set by the Members of the Council, who are mindful of the Council's statutory obligations to "have regard to its costs in dealing with enquiries. Being very aware of costs incurred in the conveyancing process, we endeavour to give value for money and a quality service by providing as full a reply to the questions as possible rather than the acceptable minimum.

Our current fees are as follows:

• Residential and Commercial - for one parcel of land - : £165.00 (£27.00 - LLC1 + £138.00 "Required" Enquiries which includes Surrey County fees for Highway Enquiries)
  
• LLC1 only : £27.00
  
• Additional parcel of land: £18.20 (£3.00 for LLC1 plus £15.20 for CON29)
  
• CON29 "Optional": £12.00 per question
  
• Additional enquiry added by solicitor: £20.00 (All additional Highway enquiries should be referred direct to Surrey County Council)
  
• Personal Search - The Council makes no charge to personal searchers

Please note there will be a new scale of fees relating to requisition for search and part I and part II enquiries on form CON29R with effect from 1st June 2012.
These are as follows:

• Additional parcel of land: £18.20 (£3.00 for LLC1 plus £15.20 for CON29)
  
• CON29 "Optional": £13.00 per question
  
• Additional enquiry added by solicitor: £20.00 (All additional Highway enquiries should be referred direct to Surrey County Council)
  
• Personal Search - The Council makes no charge to personal searchers

Please Note: Elmbridge Borough Council will not cancel searches.
