Commemorative Plaques
The Blue Plaque scheme, now administered by English Heritage, was first set up in London in 1866. The plaques commemorate the link between people and places and help to raise awareness of London's architectural heritage. Since that time, many local heritage plaque schemes have been set up outside London by amenity societies and residents associations, several of which are now up and running within the Borough of Elmbridge.
