Developing Mobile Networks

Photo: Phone mastMobile phone companies are required to publish their plans for new phone masts to show their plans for mobile network development in the area in the coming year.

This information is made available at an early stage in order that communities and their elected Members can be involved with discussions regarding siting and design of equipment with operators prior to the submission of applications to the Local Planning Authority. Applications the council receives will be available for people to see and comment on. Neighbours will be notified, a site notice displayed, a public notice put in the newspaper and the residents association informed if there is one.

The mobile phone operators have produced information sheets on their |ten commitments to best siting practice to help address concerns relating to the development of base stations.
