Automated Telephone Payments

Payments can be made 24/7 using our automated telephone payment system (ATP), which is now available for a limited selection of services (e.g. council tax, business rates, housing benefit overpayments, parking penalty notices and Shout)

Simply by ringing a dedicated number 01372 474020 you can use your touch tone phone to make your payment selection and pay by credit or debit card.

Calls on average take less than 4 minutes. In 2011 we took over 26,000 payments via ATP.

When calling 01372 474020 the first message you hear gives details of the cards accepted and the surcharge applied to credit cards

press * to by-pass this message if you wish.

• Welcome to the Elmbridge Borough Council telephone payment system.
• Please note a surcharge of under 2 % is applied to all Credit Card transactions except Parking Fines.
• Also we are unable to accept the following cards: American Express and Diners Card.
• Please press the star key on your telephone keypad when you are ready to continue.
• If you do not have a Touch Tone Telephone, please |call the service that issued the bill during normal working hours
• You can also |pay on the Internet

The second message details how to use the system and the options available.

In order to cancel the process at any time, simply hang up.
On completion of the transaction you will be issued with a transaction number.
Please have a pen and paper ready to note those details, and quote them in any future correspondence.

If you are familiar with the messages you can save time by pressing the next button as soon as the message starts (e.g. pressing *4 as soon as the first message starts will take you straight to shout holidays. Keying *12000000*123* as soon as the first message starts will set you up to pay £1.23 for Council Tax account 2000000 ).
