During ‘Get Online Week’ (2-8 October), Cobham Centre for the Community is offering a free iPad drop-in session for Elmbridge residents. The session will take place on Tuesday 3 October from 10am to 12pm and is for people who may need some general support or who would like to become more confident using an iPad.
Across the UK there are 15.2 million people who are not making full use of the internet, which can lead to people feeling lonely in a digital age. To help Borough residents develop the online skills they need, our Centres for the Community offer a range of computer and iPad classes throughout the week. The aim of these classes is to help people get to grips with the basics of using a computer or tablet, so this drop-in session is a great opportunity for people to discuss their IT worries with a trained professional.
Councillor Ruth Lyon, Portfolio Holder for Social Affairs commented: “These courses and lessons provide a wonderful opportunity for people to gain new skills. If you are struggling to use your tablet or iPad, why not attend the drop-in session on 3 October and start developing your computer skills.”
The Cobham, Claygate, Hersham, Molesey and Weybridge Centres currently run courses or lessons. Please get in touch with one of those Centres if you are interested and want to discuss availability.
