Volunteering drop-in

Volunteering drop-in

Across the Borough over 250 people use our Meals on Wheels service to access hot, nutritious meals on a daily or weekly basis. This fantastic service is only possible with the support of dedicated volunteers. On 29 September between 10am and 12 noon a volunteering drop-in morning is being held at Cobham Centre for the Community. This drop-in session is perfect for people who would like to find out more about becoming a Meals on Wheels volunteer.

We are particularly looking for volunteers to help deliver meals throughout the Cobham area. If you have a few hours to spare each week, becoming a Meals on Wheels driver is hugely rewarding. Full induction and training will be provided and we are very happy to provide flexible arrangements in terms of when you are able to help with delivering the meals.

Councillor Mrs Ruth Lyon, Portfolio Holder for Social Affairs explained: “Volunteers are vital to supporting Meals on Wheels, and it really helps the local community. I would strongly urge anyone who wants to find out more, to pop along for a friendly chat on 29 September.”

If you are interested in the role or would like any further information on the drop-in session you can call the Voluntary Support Services Manager on 01372 474552, email commservices@elmbridge.gov.uk or visit our website
