Residents and visitors to Elmbridge can now experience additional convenience when paying for parking, with the introduction of contactless payment machines in eight of the car parks in Elmbridge. There will be no additional fee or minimum spend for members of the public paying by card and a receipt will be issued by the machine if required.
Churchfield Road car park in Weybridge, Hollyhedge Road car park in Cobham, the Civic Centre car park in Esher, as well as the commuter car parks at Mayfield Road Hersham and Station Avenue in Walton-on-Thames, The Heath North and the Heath South car parks in Weybridge and Walton Park car park in Hersham, all had contactless payment machines installed towards the end of December. This brings the number of ways to pay for parking to five - cash, card via pin, RingGo, season ticket and now contactless payment.
Councillor Andrew Davis, Portfolio Holder for Highway and Transport, commented;
“We are always seeking to improve the service we offer to our residents and it is great that we can now provide them with even more convenience in our car parks. The contactless payment method is quick and easy and I have no doubt that it will be appreciated by all our car park users.”
