Recycling Team Seek Mystery Valentine

Enforcement officer with rosesElmbridge Council's recycling team were intrigued by the discovery of an abandoned bouquet of red roses left by a litter bin at their Esher recycling centre on the morning after Valentines day.

The Enforcement Officer for Elmbridge Council (photo right) who discovered the mystery flowers said "We often find unwanted items are illegally fly-tipped at our recycling centres, but on this occasion we can only imagine how or why these lovely roses ended up here."

With love still in the air, the flowers are being well tended and watered at the Civic Offices in case the owner has a change of heart.

Elmbridge's recycling team would also like to remind lovers everywhere, to recycle their Valentine Champagne bottles in their recycling bin and compost flowers at home, or using the Council's garden waste subscription service. |To find out more visit the recycling web pages.
