Refurbished Hersham Play Area Opened In Time For School Holidays
The Deputy Mayor, |Councillor John Sheldon, and Deputy Mayoress, |Councillor Mrs Mary Sheldon, officially opened the newly refurbished play area at Hersham Recreation Ground on Friday 16 July.
This popular play area was refurbished under the Council's rolling programme for play area refurbishment and, despite the Great British weather endeavouring to interrupt proceedings with snow, ice, rain and some sunshine, the work was completed within 10 weeks.
This large and exciting play area offers increased play value to its young visitors and provides an array of picnic benches and grassed areas for picnicking and relaxation.
A good family day out can be enjoyed at the play area, particularly during the summer months when the paddling pool is open.
The Deputy Mayor said: "I have great pleasure in opening this play area which demonstrates the commitment of the Council to provide improved facilities to the Borough following successful public consultation."
|Councillor Jan Fuller, Portfolio Holder for |Leisure and Cultural Services, said: "This is a wonderful asset for the local community to enjoy, ready just in time for the school holidays."
