Happy Times Of Christmases Past!
Families kept up the festive cheer going a bit longer at Elmbridge Museum last Saturday by discovering the classic games people used to play at Christmas during Victorian times. They had great fun with skittles, quoits, Jacob's ladder and marbles. Although a far cry from today's electronic games, all of them proved to be great entertainment for everybody. Adults and children also found a selection of exciting toys and games in the Museum's Discovery Box. Those with creative imagination even made their own toys and games to take home with them!
|Councillor Jan Fuller, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Cultural Services, said: "The types of toys may have changed through the ages but the delight of children discovering the joy of playing together with their family and friends is timeless."
'Playtime' was part of a free series of drop in Family Fun days held at Elmbridge Museum in Weybridge on the second Saturday of each month. Sessions run from 11.00 am - 1.00 pm and from 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm.
We ask that children under 10 years old be accompanied by an adult.
