Festive healthy walks and cycle rides

Get in a festive mood this December

The popular Healthy Walks and Cycle Rides are running over the whole month of December, including the Christmas period. 

With walks on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, as well as in between, there is no need to feel lazy and unhealthy during the holiday season! If you think you are in danger of overindulging this Christmas, why not join us for a walk to work off the calories from the festive season.

Christmas Day - Merry Meander - 11am to 12pm. Join Karen and Chris for a pre-walk mulled wine from 10.40am before setting off on a stroll around Esher Commons. Meet in Lakewood car park, Portsmouth Road, Cobham KT11 1TG.

Boxing Day - To Hampton Court for a hot drink with ice! 11am to 1pm. Join Karen, Chris and Liz for a pre-walk mulled wine from 10.40am. Meet in Sadlers Ride car park,
Molesey KT8 1ST.

There are three walks and a cycle ride to choose from on Friday 29 December:

Walk on the towpath. 10.30am to 11.15am.  Meet Karen at the Thyme by the River Café, East Molesey Cricket Club, Graburn Way KT8 9AL for a very sloe flat walk.There are plenty of seats en route, if needed.

Walk to Arbrook and Claygate Commons. 10.30am to 12pm. Meet David and Andrew in Arbrook Lane car park, Claygate KT10 9EJ.

Cycle ride to Ham House. 10.30am to 1pm. 14 miles. Meet Pam in Sadlers Ride car park, Molesey, KT8 1ST.

Monday 1 January – New Year’s Day – Walk on Esher Commons - 11am to 12pm - Meet Karen at Garsons Farm (covered entrance to garden centre), West End, Esher, KT10 8LP. 

Councillor Janet Turner, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Cultural Service, said, “Christmas is a magical time to enjoy a walk in the fresh air on a cold crisp and sunny day. It's a great way to enjoy some time out from the demands of the festive season. Why don’t you join us for our festive walks and meet new people? You never know: what starts out as a one-off stroll could lead to life-long friendships and a love of walking.”
