The Cobham Link Group and members from Fernleigh Day Centre were joined by the Mayor of Elmbridge in celebrating the Group’s fifth birthday at the Cobham Centre for the Community last month (21 September). People took part in making fruit cocktails, decorating gnomes and using gym equipment and also enjoyed a delicious buffet. They finished the celebrations by taking part in a game of Boccia where they were joined by parents, carers, Councillors and volunteers.
The Mayor of Elmbridge Councillor Tannia Shipley comments, “It was a pleasure to join in with the celebrations. Cobham Link has made such a positive impact on people’s lives over the years and I hope that it will continue to do this for many more.”
Chris, Cobham Link coordinator, has commented, “Everyone had a great time taking part in the different activities at the party. Every week we provide a space for people to be creative and get involved in their local community. If you or someone you know would be interested in joining this group for people with learning disabilities, please contact me on 01932 596031.”
