Chelsea Football Club Football in the Community

Image of the Chelsea Football logoThe arrival of Chelsea Football Club in Stoke D'Abernon, Cobham a few years ago has had a positive impact on health, education and community projects for residents of all ages in Elmbridge. Their Community Development Programme consists of school-based projects, assemblies, tournaments and after school clubs. They also support and offer advice for football and youth clubs in the area.

Chelsea Football Club has linked up with Leisure and Cultural Services Sports Development Team to work on a number of community development initiatives that benefit not only local football fanatics, but residents of all ages. The programme encompasses a number of projects surrounding healthy lifestyles, education and football development.

Chelsea Football in the Community has taken over the running of the Girls Little League Football, which was originally established through a partnership between Elmbridge Borough Council's Leisure and Cultural Services, Surrey Girl's and Women's Football Development Officer and Little League Football. Chelsea Football Club Coaches provide free coaching sessions throughout the summer holidays at a number of Shout! sport and activity scheme sites. The Shout! Holiday Activities, are for 5 to 13 year olds and part of Elmbridge Borough Council's ongoing commitment to providing an affordable, comprehensive, annual programme of physical activity, sports, play and art to the local community|.
