What do Play Workers do? Job Description, Person Specification and Wages

Shout! Holiday Activities aim to provide a supervised, happy environment during the school holidays for children and young people aged between 5 and 13 years living in the Elmbridge area. Shout! aims to offer new experiences and to promote physical and social development.

The role of a Play Worker, Deputy Leader and Site Leader is to facilitate a varied programme of play opportunities such as games, arts and crafts, sports, dance and drama and above all free choice. This creates a safe and exciting environment in which children can explore their creative potential and try out new experiences. To find out more detailed information about specific duties please see the Job Descriptions below. Qualified Playworkers are expected to hold a minimum Level 2 in Child Care. Qualified Deputy Leaders and Site Leaders are expected to have a minimum Level 3 in Child Care. If you are over 18 years old find out what sort of person makes a good Shout! If you are a particularly sporty person, we also employ Multi-Sports Assistants to work on our sports courses. If you think this role would be more suitable for you, complete an application for this post.

Please be aware that both Play Workers and Multi-Sports Assistants should be prepared to be flexible in their approach to working in different environments and settings.

All rates of pay are exclusive of holiday pay which is paid on top of your basic rate of pay.
