Elmbridge Community Play Rangers

The Elmbridge Community Play Rangers have been in the parks since February 2009. After spending the winter indoors the Play Rangers are excited to be going back to parks and recreation grounds across the borough. The sessions are free! There is no need to register and children are free to come and go as they please. Children can play sports, make arts and crafts, build a den and make new friends!

Play RangersChildren and young people over the age of 8 years old are able to attend the sessions alone. An older sibling must accompany children aged 5 to 7. Our Play Rangers operate an open access principle meaning that children are free to come and go as they please. Play Rangers do their utmost to ensure children are kept safe yet at the same time provide opportunities for them to be challenged, take acceptable risks and have fun outdoors.

The Play Rangers target their work to meet the Every Child Matters Outcomes framework by encouraging healthy lifestyles by exercise, healthy eating, and encouraging them to be involved in their communities. The Play Rangers also build relationships with the children and young people, giving the children and young people a friend and positive role model who they can talk to. The Play Rangers help to reduce fear of bullying and encourage children and young people to make the most of recreation grounds and venues. The Play Rangers Project in Elmbridge is funded by |the Big Lottery Fund.

Working and playing with children and young people, the Elmbridge Community Play Rangers encourage children to make more use of parks and open spaces. |Why not find out more about the parks and recreations grounds in Elmbridge?
