Parks

Elmbridge Borough Council's Leisure and Cultural Services are justifiably proud of the standard of the parks, open spaces, and recreation and sports grounds under its care. This quality service as noted by the Audit Commision in the Continuous Performance Assessment of Elmbridge, and significantly contributed towards the "Excellent" rating awarded.

The high standard of play area provision and maintenance of play areas has been recognised by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) which has awarded the Parks Team a Gold Play Quality Operator Award.

The award commends commitment to providing easily accessible interesting, high quality play facilities to all areas of the community. Graded at gold, silver and bronze, Elmbridge were one of only 13 businesses and organisations to achieve gold.

A RoSPA Play Quality Award recognises not only the play equipment but also acknowledges the high level of maintenance and site management that goes into making safe and fun play areas.

The high quality grounds maintenance service is achieved through a partnership with Burley and Sons.
The high quality play equipment inspection service is achieved through a partnership with Recreational Supply Services.
Both companies continue to provide a first class maintenance service through their respective contracts signed until at least 2015.
