Dog Control Orders Exemptions
Fouling of Land by Dogs
A person who has a disability and has a dog from Dog for the Disabled, Support Dogs or a Canine Partners for Independence and a person who is registered blind are exempt
A person who is deaf is not exempt unless he has a dog from Dog for the Disabled, Support Dogs or a Canine Partners for Independence.
NB: Not being aware that your dog, or a dog under your control, has fouled the land or not having suitable means to remove the faeces are not reasonable excuses for failing to remove it.
Dogs on Leads
No offence is committed where a person in charge of a dog(s) acts with the consent of the person or authority, who owns or is in control of the land, or has a reasonable excuse for failing to comply with a dog control order(s).
Dog Exclusion
A person who has a disability and has a dog from Dogs for the Disabled, Support Dogs or a Canine Partners for Independence or a Hearing Dog for Deaf People is exempt as is a registered blind person.
Maximum number of Dogs
There are no exceptions to this Dog Control Order
