In 2005, Elmbridge Borough Council's Leisure and Cultural Services became the first Leisure Division in the Country to be awarded a fourth consecutive Charter Mark.
What is Charter Mark?
The Charter Mark is a nationally recognised quality award scheme, co-ordinated by the Government, which recognises excellence in public service and a commitment to delivering high quality services to the public.
Customer Service Excellence
Now, in 2008, Charter Mark has evolved into 'Customer Service Excellence', although the award is still based on largley the same criteria as it was under Charter Mark, namely providing public services for all that are efficient, effective, excellent, equitable and empowering - with the citizen always and everywhere at the heart of public service provision.
Our Customer Charter
One of the key elements of Charter Mark is setting and publishing standards that you can expect to receive from us. |Why not have a look at these standards and let us know how we are getting on?

How has Charter Mark enhanced the services we provide?
During the past three years, since the last award, Elmbridge Leisure and Cultural Services has continued to enhance the level of service, providing excellent value for money through innovative new services such as the introduction of a |text messaging service, electronic brochures and enhancing existing ones such as developing the |SHOUT! Holiday Activity programme, expanding the |Royston Pike Lecture Series, while at the same time demonstrating revenue savings and attracting additional funding and sponsorships from other agencies in the private sector.
