The health benefits of increased activity are well known and most of us should be more active more often! A series of roadshows took place around the borough in February 2010 and we hope to run a further series of roadshows later in the year. Elmbridge Borough Council offer a wide range of free or reduced price activities in and around the borough to encourage you to be active more often and here is a summary of the activities we offer.

Cardiac Rehab and Exercise Referral

Why don't you join one or two of the friendly and sociable cardiac rehabilitation and exercise referral sessions available?

Group Classes Costs: £3-£5 per session
Monday: Xcel Leisure Centre: 09.30-10.30
Monday: Xcel Leisure Centre: 10.40-11.40
Thursday: Hersham Village Hall: 10.30-11.30
Friday: Xcel Leisure Centre: 12.00-13.00
Friday: Cobham Day Centre: 14.00-15.00
Friday: Cobham Day Centre: 15.00-16.00

The structured sessions include exercises to suit everyone. Participants will experience a boost in confidence by exercising with other people in these fun and sociable classes. Guaranteed to leave you smiling at the end!

Gym sessions: Initial induction fee of £15 and then £3 - £3.25 per session.
Tuesday: Xcel Leisure Centre: 11.30-15.30
Friday: Xcel Leisure Centre: 11.30-15.30
Sunday: Xcel Leisure Centre: 14.30-17.30

What are the benefits of exercise and how do I take part?
Exercise helps reduce the risk of heart attacks, improves cholesterol levels, aids weight loss, reduces blood pressure and makes you feel better!
