Countryside Strategy

Countryside StrategyThe purpose of the Countryside Strategy is to provide a replacement document for the existing Elmbridge Borough Council Countryside Strategy, which was adopted in 1999. Its aim is to strike a balance between the interests associated with issues such as nature conservation, recreation and amenity use. Elmbridge Leisure and Cultural Services is committed to providing a customer orientated service that meets community needs. A more strategic approach has been taken to guide the Council over the next five years in the management of its countryside estate. It will build upon the success of the previous Countryside Strategy whilst addressing new challenges, opportunities and public perceptions while incorporating the Esher Commons SSSI Restoration and Management Plan into a wider countryside context.

The Strategy can be viewed and downloaded here. Due to the size of the document it has been divided into two sections.

|Section One - The main Countryside Strategy.

|Section Two - Maps of the Countryside Sites and current publications.

|If you would like further information regarding the Countryside Strategy please contact the Countryside Officer.
