Cycling on the Esher Commons

The Esher Common cycle route runs through 2.5 miles of some of the most scenic areas of Esher and Arbrook Commons, with starting points from Portsmouth Road, Copsem Lane, Sandy Lane and Arbrook Lane. It has been planned as a leisure facility to allow off-road cycling on Elmbridge's countryside. Follow the route to see woodland, heathland and wetland habitats on this important wildlife site. The route is ideal for family cycle rides but can be bumpy and sandy at times.

On the route please be careful and watch your speed - the route is also used by horse riders, dog walkers and other walkers and you must give way to them. Cyclists must also follow the Cycling Code of Conduct at all times.

|A leaflet with a map of the cycle route is available from Leisure and Cultural Services. Alternatively, |Surrey County Council publish eight Surrey Cycle Guides, covering the whole of Surrey. The guides show a set of recommended cycle routes and location of cycling facilities put in by the council to make your cycling journey safer.
