The Fourth Elmbridge Literature Festival 2011
The Fourth Elmbridge Festival 2011, organised by R.C. Sherrriff Trust working in partnership with Elmbridge Borough Council, has now finished. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to make it a success.
This year's Festival offered no fewer than 16 professional writers who provided creative writing workshops, talks, lectures, and readings, covering a variety of genres. The final weekend focusing on families and young people with workshops for children and adults alike proved to be extremely popular with participants who thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
Highlights of this year's festival included Lucy Worsley, Chief Curator at Historic Royal Palaces, brilliant historian and broadcaster who has fascinated millions of viewers with her recent television series 'If Walls Could Talk'; a panel of renowned authors discussing the appeal of historical fiction and up and coming writer Felix Riley, author of the thriller 'The Set Up'.
The Fourth Elmbridge Literary Festival also showcased the |winning entries of the Seventh Literary Competition. Where winners had their poems and stories read out in public at a prize giving ceremony.
We will shortly start planning next year's festival very soon and will publish our programme soon.
