Filming locations

Filming locations

Elmbridge is conveniently located on the border of London and is near to other south east locations. It has a wide range of locations from urban towns and villages to parks, the countryside and historical venues including Brooklands racetrack. This has made Elmbridge a popular place for film companies to visit and film.

We are able to advise you with location and production base suggestions and contact information to help make your planning as simple as possible. For more information about filming on land owned by Elmbridge Borough Council, please contact Leisure and Cultural Services. Please allow at least 3 - 4 weeks for your enquiry to be processed. You will need to provide a list of the crew and vehicles you are planning to bring, and a copy of your public liability insurance.

We do not allow drones to take off or land from council owned land.

Our locations:

  • Desborough Island: a large, artificially created island in the River Thames.

  • Cowey Sale: a large open space with plenty of hard standing, adjacent to, and with views of the river and marina

  • Xcel Leisure Complex: modern sports facilities including large gym and synthetic turf pitch
