As rates of childhood obesity continue to increase within the UK, the risk to both the current and future health of the nation is more important than ever. Statistics suggest that one in five boys and one in four girls aged 2-15 years is overweight or obese according to the Health Survey for England in 2002. For boys this has almost doubled in the last 8 years. This is a staggering statistic that needs action now.
