Staying fit and healthy can sometimes feel like a full time job and it can be difficult to know where to start, but help is at hand.
Elmbridge Explorers is an exciting new strand to the |Elmbridge Healthy Walks Scheme with walks designed specifically to encourage families and young people to be more active. |Find out about the latest family walks here.
The walks are a great way to improve fitness and overall health whilst at the same time doing something as a family and getting out in the fresh air.
The walks include something for everyone and are great for people of all ages. They last about an hour and often have an underlying theme, of interest to children and adults alike.
So far families have enjoyed the beauty of Painshill Park, Bushy Park's Woodland Gardens, fungi spotting at St Ann's Hill, and weather permitting, a picnic is often enjoyed as walking can work up quite an appetite!
All walks are free and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Suitable clothing and footwear is essential and it is a good idea to bring along a drink.
If you would like to lead walks for families have a look at our |volunteer page for more information. For more information please |contact the Assistant Health Development Officer.
