Our Licensing Policy

Picture of a beer glassElmbridge Borough Council's Licensing Policy shows how we carry out functions in support of the Government's licensing objectives, which are :

  • the prevention of crime and disorder
  • public safety
  • the prevention of public nuisance
  • the protection of children from harm.

Please be aware that Licensing Policies are individual to each Licensing Authority and our policy only covers the Elmbridge area.

The Licensing Policy was written in accordance with the statutory guidance issued by the Home Secretary and copies of the guidance and other related information can be viewed on the |DCMS website.

Licensing Policies have to be reviewed at least every three years (but can be reviewed earlier at the discretion of the Licensing Authority). We re-adopted our Licensing Policy on 8 December 2010 with a few minor amendments.
