Key Features and Guidance Notes for a Skin Piercing Operator Licence
(Tattooing, ear and body piercing, acupuncture and electrolysis)
Introduction
If you offer tattooing, acupuncture, ear and body piercing or electrolysis you must be registered with your local authority. If you work from a premises, they must also be registered. Once registered, you will be issued with a certificate of registration.|

No. It is in the public interest that the Council must process your application before it can be granted to ensure good standards of hygiene and infection control. If you have not heard from the Council within a reasonable period, please contact them.

If a registration is suspended or cancelled the registration holder may appeal to the county court.
