Refresher Course - Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering

Does your food safety knowledge need refreshing or do you think your certificate has "expired"?

A refresher course is available for holders of accredited Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering. By attending this course you will be proving and ensuring that your knowledge is kept up-to-date.

Who should attend the course?

The Refresher qualification is aimed at Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering certificate holders who would benefit from training to keep their knowledge up-to-date.

You must hold an accredited Level 2 Food Safety qualification awarded by |The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, |Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance, or |The Royal Society for Public Health, BIIAB, EDI or City and Guilds.

When is refresher training required?

The need for refresher training could be triggered by:

  • your documented food safety management procedure;
  • a complaint by a customer;
  • a notice served on your business or organisation; and/or,
  • a change in practices or new processes in place.
  • or it may be that your food safety knowledge at Level 2 is not current.

How long is the course?

A workbook and a course booklet (for approximately three hours self-study at home or in your workplace) is followed by a two hour session held at the Council Offices (one hour for revision and one hour for the examination). For eight or more candidates it may be possible to hold the two hour session at your own premises.

How much is the course?

The current fee is £40.00 per person (subject to change). No refund will be given if cancellation takes place after payment and the booklets have been sent to you.

How do I book?

Either:

Within seven days of your booking and payment you must send in a copy of your original Level 2 certificate marked for the immediate attention of a Food & Safety Officer. A copy of the certificate will then be sent, by us with your examination paper at the end of the course, to the awarding body.

What do I need to bring to the session?

  • Photographic identification - or you will be unable to take the 30 question multiple choice examination.
