Food Hygiene Inspections

Image of saucepan in kitchenIn accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice and Practice Guidance, the Food Safety Officers of Elmbridge Borough Council undertake food hygiene inspections of certain food businesses within the Borough.

The inspection rating of a food business determines the interval between inspections and is assessed or re-assessed at the conclusion of every full or primary inspection. An inspection rating is not re-assessed at re-visits, known as secondary inspections.

An inspection is not intended to examine every aspect of the food business, and it is the proprietor's responsibility to ensure that the relevant regulations are complied with.
