|Street Cleaning Search Facility

You can now use our online search facility to find out when your street is next due to be cleaned

We work hard to keep your streets and pavements clean and tidy. Our Street Smart team are on hand to improve the appearance of your streets by making minor improvements where possible.

Reporting a Street Cleaning Issue

To report a badly littered street, fly-tip or a dead animal:

Street Sweeping

|Report a badly littered street online
We aim to litter-pick any reported streets within a few hours and have any litter bins emptied by the next working day. We endeavour to clean residential streets every four weeks when the gutters and foot-ways are mechanically swept and cleared of litter and general dirt. 'Special cleans' might be required for roads with a lot of parked cars and residents will be notified before these cleans take place. Town Centres are cleaned daily to ensure they remain tidy and pleasant.

Littering is Illegal

Dropping litter (including cigarette ends, chewing gum or sweet wrappers) is an offence under the Environmental Protection Act 1990. Anyone caught littering may receive an on-the-spot £75.00 penalty or face a court fine of up to £2,500.

|Enforcement action by the Council will follow these principles

Fly-Tipping

|Report fly-tipping online
Dumping waste is an offence which carries a maximum fine of £50,000 and possible imprisonment. Please contact the |Environmental Services team if you see anyone fly-tipping waste and make a note of any details such as the vehicle registration. We investigate all reports of fly-tipping and arrange for removal and proper disposal. Our target is to remove it within five days if it is on public land.

|Enforcement action by the Council will follow these principles

Dead Animals

|Report a dead animal online
Dead animals will be removed from the public highways and open spaces when reported.

Other Road Hazards

Road hazards, such as oil spills or dangerous obstructions, should be reported to |Surrey County Council.
