The fortnightly garden waste collection service is an easy way for you to compost your garden waste. If home composting isn't practical or if you have too much garden waste, then this convenient collection service is the answer.

How much does it cost?

You can choose to have your garden waste collected either from 1 or 2 brown-top wheeled bins, or 2 reusable sacks. The charges per year are as follows:

  • 1 wheeled bin: £32* (plus £39 for the one-off purchase of a wheeled bin).
  • 2 wheeled bins: £64 (plus £78 for the one-off purchase of 2 wheeled bins).
  • 2 sacks: £27* (sacks included).

*These charges are subject to change.

Concessionary charges are available if you receive Council Tax Benefit or Housing benefit (excluding Council Tax discounts). Payments at concessionary rates can only be made by sending us your |completed subscription form and enclosing a copy of a payment book or a letter of entitlement.

How do I register or renew?


We aim to deliver your sacks or bins within 2-3 weeks. Your year's subscription won't begin until you receive your sacks or bin.

What are my alternatives?

Image for compostingComposting at home is one of the best things you can do for the environment! It's certainly the most environmentally friendly and cost effective way of dealing with your garden waste. It also makes nutrient rich compost which you can put back into your garden.

You can get a reduced price home composter by visiting the |Surrey Get Composting website or calling 0845 130 60 90 and quote SCC10ELM.

You can also take your garden waste to your |local recycling centres.
