Special Collection Service
The Council's Special Collection Service is for the removal of large and bulky items from residential properties. It is designed for items that cannot be recycled or reused by the |Surrey Reuse Network or easily taken to a |Community Recycling Centre ('the tip').
How does it work?
We can collect from anywhere on your property but ideally items should be left in your front garden. If you request a collection from inside your property, we will contact you to arrange access. All items must be entirely disconnected and free standing before removal can take place.
- We will collect within 7 working days of receiving your request and payment
- Collection days are usually Tuesday and Thursday
- Collections take place during the day from 7am onwards, therefore it is important that there is access for collection
A site visit prior to collection will be required:
- To confirm that we can collect items such as American fridge freezers or pianos
- For carpets and collections over 7 items, our contractor will provide you with a quote
Please contact the |Environmental Care team to arrange this.
Arranging a collection

A next day collection is available at an additional charge of £44. This is only available by contacting the |Environmental Care team directly.
( * = Concessionary rate - available if you have Housing Benefit or Council Tax Benefit (excluding Council Tax discounts). We need to see copies of your payment book or letter of entitlement to qualify for concessionary charges.)
