Community planning is at the heart of improving the quality of life for those who live, work and study in Elmbridge.
As an affluent and successful borough with high levels of employment, Elmbridge is one of the most desirable places to live in the country. This success brings its own problems such as traffic congestion, skills shortage and very high house prices.
These problems cannot be addressed by any one organisation acting alone. Community planning is the partnership mechanism we use to tackle some of our most complex issues.
Elmbridge Community Partnership is the local strategic partnership (LSP) for Elmbridge. It was formally established in April 2002 and consists of senior representatives from public agencies along with those from the business, community, faith and voluntary sectors. |The Partnership's governance handbook is available to download.
- |Sustainable Community Strategy
Elmbridge Community Partnership is responsible for developing the Elmbridge Sustainable Community Strategy. This document sets out what the Partnership is going to do over the forthcoming years to ensure the achievement of the vision for Elmbridge in 2015. The aim is to ensure that the borough of Elmbridge offers quality of life both for current and future generations.
- Delivery partnerships
The Elmbridge Community Partnership is made up of a network of themed delivery partnerships. The Elmbridge Community Partnership has a Board, which is ultimately responsible for ensuring the objectives in the Sustainable Community Strategy are achieved, with a set of themed delivery partnerships which are concerned with delivery. There is a partnership for each of the themes in the Sustainable Community Strategy. These partnerships are:

- |We are what you do
'We are what you do' is an initiative which hopes to inspire people like you to change the way you do small everyday actions. If everyone made small changes to the way we do things, it could make a big difference to the quality of life for those who live, work and visit the borough. Some of the actions will also help protect and enhance quality of life beyond the boundaries of Elmbridge. The Elmbridge Community Partnership provides representation on a Joint Communications Group, which is responsible for co-ordinating the delivery of this initiative.
